The entry requirement for AI visibility
People still search, but they’re getting answers in different ways. When results are summarised by AI, the question becomes simple, is your content clear and credible enough to be reused as a source? Trust Integrity Score (TIS) is how we describe that machine level confidence.
It isn’t a metric you’ll find in Google Analytics. It’s a practical way of explaining how confident an AI system is in using your content as a source. In simple terms, can a machine lift your wording, summarise it, and stand behind it without increasing the risk of being wrong?

What Trust Integrity Score is made of
TIS is shaped by three elements. If any one of them is weak, your content can still read well to humans, however it may become less attractive to AI systems.
Citation depth
This is about whether your content can be attributed to a credible source. That can be a named expert, an editorial team, or a clearly accountable brand, the key is that it’s obvious who stands behind the information and how it’s maintained. Pages that feel anonymous or unverifiable are harder for AI systems to treat as reliable sources.
You don’t need a byline on every page. You do need clear ownership and content people can trust.
Clear communication
AI needs language to be precise and consistent. Vague explanations, mixed terminology and marketing phrasing (jargon), increase the risk of misinterpretation. High trust content defines terms clearly, answers specific questions directly, and keeps wording consistent from start to finish.
A simple test is, whether someone could quote your definition in one sentence without changing its meaning? If not, it’s usually too loose.
Concept reinforcement
AI systems trust ideas that are supported, not just mentioned once. Concept reinforcement is the pattern of strengthening key ideas across your site using examples, FAQs, and internal links. Consistency signals intent, and intent signals reliability. This is one reason one standalone page often isn’t enough on its own.
What TIS really measures
At its core, Trust Integrity Score reflects one thing, which is how confidently an AI system can rely on your content without running into contradiction, confusion or missing context.
High TIS content is easy to attribute, easy to interpret and safe to reuse. Low TIS content can still rank in traditional search, but it’s less likely to be cited or summarised in AI led experiences.
A real world example
Take a service page that explains a specialist topic (for example, cybersecurity, cosmetic surgery, tax planning, or another technical service). If the page defines the term clearly, keeps wording consistent across the site, and reinforces the same core ideas through supporting FAQs and related pages, it becomes easier for AI systems to reuse accurately. A similar page that stays high level, swaps terminology, or doesn’t show who wrote it can be harder to lift with confidence, even if it reads well at first glance.
Older SEO
A lot of older SEO thinking assumes that if you publish enough content, visibility follows. AI led results don’t work like that. They reward content that can be summarised, attributed and reused without distortion. That is why we use applications like Zero Click Authority, to help us get ahead of the curve.
TIS helps explain why some brands appear repeatedly in AI results while others don’t, even when they’ve followed best practice SEO. If AI visibility is the goal, trust has to be built deliberately.

FAQs
What is Trust Integrity Score (TIS)?
Trust Integrity Score describes how confident an AI system is in using your content as a reliable source.
Why do trust signals affect AI visibility?
Because AI systems prefer content they can reuse safely. If meaning is unclear or credibility is weak, the risk of being wrong increases.
How do I improve Trust Integrity Score?
Make authorship and expertise visible, tighten definitions and wording, and reinforce core ideas across your site using examples, FAQs and internal links.
Is TIS the same as EEAT?
They’re related. EEAT is a human facing quality signal,TIS describes how those same cues translate into machine confidence.
Can a page rank well but still have low TIS?
Yes. A page can rank for humans but still be hard for AI to attribute or summarise confidently, reducing its chance of being reused in AI answers.
Does TIS matter for AI Overviews?
Yes. Being cited depends heavily on whether the source is clear, dependable and safe to reuse.
We have been writing about these changes for a few years, before the likes of gpt’s and LLM’s became mainstream. Here’s one about How AI Overviews is Shaping Up Business Visibility Online.
